Description
Color.
Dark reddish brown with a darker median stripe.
Female.
Head.  Vertex smooth; first antennal flagellomere about twice as long as the pedicel.
Thorax.  Pronotum elongate, disc smooth, lateral margins subparallel, smooth; mesonotum only about 1.1 times the length of the pronotum, disc rugose, lateral margins with small tubercles.
Abdomen.  Tergites medially bicarinate, X broadly truncate distally, posterolateral angles of the tergites not spinose. Subgenital plate reaching almost to the end of the abdomen, smooth, apex acuminate.
Wings.  Tegmina short, the tubercles obtuse, posterior margin oblique; hindwings fully developed, reaching to abdominal segment IX or beyond, posterior area light tan.
Male.
Thorax.  Mesonotum granulate and laterally tuberculate.
Abdomen  Subgenital plate apically rounded; vomer very broad, medially sulcate, lateral margins rounded and swollen, apex flat, rounded.
Wings.  Tegmina with the posterior margin rounded; hindwings fully developed, reaching to abdominal segment VIII.
Geographic distribution.
Throughout Jamaica.

Systematic notes.
The systematic position of this species has been a problem since it was originally described. That it is merely an alate Anisomorpha is clearly shown by its general body form and the structure of the male vomer.
I have examined 15 males and 11 females.
